Class E Exams
- The Class E exam is a general knowledge exam required for first time drivers regardless of age.
- Drivers 18 and over must take the exam in person.
- Please review fees, what to bring before scheduling an appointment.
- Exams are available at multiple branches.

Effective Feb. 6, 2026, all driver license knowledge exams will be administered in English. Language translation services for knowledge and driving exams will be discontinued. American Sign Language (ASL) will continue to be permitted.
The Class E Knowledge Exam is administered electronically and includes audio instructions.
If an American Sign Language translator is needed for a verbal exam, please contact our office by phone or email to schedule the
appointment in advance.
