The Office of Will Roberts - Tax Collector is changing the way Volusia residents experience government services. Our team is prepared to assist online, over the phone or in person to answer questions about property taxes, motorist services, driver licenses, vehicle and vessel registrations and more.
In 2020, Volusia County voters elected a tax collector for the first time in 50 years. Since taking office on January 5, 2021, Tax Collector Will Roberts has focused on his mission to improve customer service by making it easier to access the services needed from the tax collector's office. Our mission and core values continually guide us to improve the customer experience.
As mandated by State statute, the Volusia County Tax Collector assumed operations of the county's two driver license offices from the State in late 2021-early 2022. Since then, expanded services have been rolled out to increase access and convenience for customers. For example, in early 2022 the Office began processing concealed weapon license applications, which is the first time this service has been offered in the county. Additionally, the vast majority of our branches have become one-stop shops where customers can receive driver license and tag & title services in the same location.
A new location in Deltona and an expanded location in Southeast Volusia are on the horizon. The Deltona branch is under construction with an opening slated for late 2023. Planning has begun for a larger branch in Southeast Volusia County to accommodate the growth of the area and the need for a larger space to include the provision of driver licenses and ID cards. We appreciate your patience as we work to better serve you through these new one-stop locations.
